Modelling exciton diffusion in disordered conjugated polymers
We present a combined quantum-chemical and Monte Carlo approach for calculating exciton transport properties in disordered organic materials starting from the molecular scale. We show that traps and energetic disorder are the main limitations for exciton diffusion in conjugated polymers. An analytical model for exciton hopping in a medium of sites with uncorellated energetic disorder gives a qu...
متن کاملMechanically strong, fluorescent hydrogels from zwitterionic, fully π-conjugated polymers.
Mechanically strong supramolecular hydrogels (up to 98.9% water content) were obtained by the combination of a rigid, fully π-conjugated polymer backbone and zwitterionic side chains. The gels were characterized by SAXS, SEM and rheology measurements and are fluorescent, stimuli responsive (temperature, salts) and bind DNA.
متن کاملTheory of non-Condon emission from the interchain exciton in conjugated polymer aggregates.
The authors present here a simple analysis that explains the apparent strengthening of electron phonon interaction upon aggregation in conjugated polymer materials. The overall scheme is that of an intermolecular Herzberg-Teller effect whereby sidebands of a forbidden transition are activated by oppositely phased vibrations. The authors show that upon aggregation, the 0-0 emission becomes symme...
متن کاملBond length order parameter of conjugated polymers
It is usually assumed that the ground state lattice con"guration of polyacetylene is a dimerized chain. We found that the energy can be further reduced by an overall chain length contraction, which leads to a new bond length order parameter, in addition to the well-known bond alternation order parameter. For quasi-particles like solitons and polarons, these two order parameters are coupled with...
متن کاملStatistics of Exciton Emission in a Semiconductor Microcavity: Detuning and Exciton-Exciton Effects
We consider the interaction of quantum light with an ideal semiconductor microcavity. We investigate photon statistics in different conditions and the presence of detuning and exciton-exciton interaction. We show that in the resonant interaction and absence of the exciton-exciton interaction, the state of the whole system can be considered as coherent state. According to our results, it turns...
